Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders IPL 2021 Match 10 Preview & Prediction

IPL Match 10

Time : 7:30 PM IST

Date : 18 April 2021

Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

Royal Challengers Bangalore has started IPL 2021 in great style and has won both its matches so far. That is not a situation that RCB fans have found themselves in too often in the past but the start to this season has been encouraging for sure.

RCB is now going to be taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders who lost their previous match quite dramatically. Still, KKR has played good cricket so far and has been in winning positions in both of its matches. One bad spell of cricket does not make it a bad team at all.

The return of Devdutt Padikkal to the top of the order is a positive sign for RCB. He was a prolific scorer for them in the previous season. RCB has a strong batting lineup and we like how they have spread their resources this time around. Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli at the top can control the inning while Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers can handle the back end.

RCB’s bowling has been better than in previous seasons. Mohammad Siraj bowled with a lot of fire in the previous match while Harshal Patel is currently the leading wicket-taker of IPL 2021. Shahbaz Ahmed changed the direction of the match in one over and is surely going to bowl a lot more.

KKR would do well not dwelling on the few overs that lost it the game but instead focus on what helped it get into winning positions. Eoin Morgan is a brilliant captain and always seems to have the ideal match-up handy.

KKR also made a promising start to their campaign but fell to a shocking defeat against the Mumbai Indians. With just 31 runs required off the last five overs, KKR succumbed to a 10-run defeat despite Andre Russell facing 15 balls in that period.

KKR’s bowling was spot-on, and controlled the game until Nitish Rana got out. They look like a team that can go all the way this season but should exercise some caution while maintaining their attacking approach.

The conditions in Chennai have challenged both teams and we have no doubt that spin is going to play a huge role once more. The team that is able to adapt quicker is the one that is going to come out on top.

RCB vs KKR Head to Head

Total Matches:   26  RCB Won:  12  KKR Won:  14

Pitch Report:

The pitch at the Chepauk hasn’t been an easy one for batting by any means. It has gotten slower and batting second becomes even tougher. Targets above the 160-run mark can be tricky to chase down. Batting first should be the way forward.
