PERTH SCORCHERS VS ADELAIDE STRIKERS MATCH PREVIEW & PREDICTION, 17TH MATCH PREDICTION

Dec 28, 2020  1:45 PM IST

Adelaide Oval – Adelaide, Australia

The Adelaide Strikers have been a tad scratchy in the 10th edition of the Big Bash League. In their first four games, they managed to win two and are riskyly placed in the bottom half of the points table.

Their next match is against Ashton Turner’s Perth Scorchers on Monday. Moreover, the Strikers would  play at their home ground in Adelaide for the first time. On head-to-head count, there’s nothing to separate the teams with eight wins each side. But in Adelaide, the Strikers have won four out of six matches.

The Strikers will also have their captain Alex Carey in the next match. The Scorchers will also be bolstered with the inclusion of Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone. The Scorchers have a point in their kitty, but they are yet to win a single match thus far.

Pitch Report and Conditions & Toss Prediction:

There would be slightly gloomy skies at Adelaide on December 28 but the pitch is expected to be a good one to bat on as we have seen in the past. The bowlers will get early help from the surface but overall it is a batting track and the side batting first will need a score of around 180 runs to feel safe at this venue.

One of the best T20 grounds in Australia the Adelaide Oval maintains an equilibrium between the batsmen and the bowlers. While bowlers are able to get early rewards from the wicket, the shorter boundaries around the square and the flat surface makes run scoring easy. It can be a tough venue for the spinners as the smaller size of the venue makes it tough for them.

Most teams have done well at Adelaide Oval while batting first and it can be a difficult venue to chase as the pitch changes character. The ball tends to do a lot in the second innings and thus the side that wins the toss is likely to opt for batting first on this surface.

While the two teams are pretty similarly balanced on paper, the Strikers have performed better in the tournament and their position on the points table reflects that. Inconsistency is something that has been common between the two sides and we expect that to continue going forward as well.

Adelaide Strikers could be without Rashid Khan and that could be a decisive omission. On the other hand, they’ll have the services of Alex Carey, making their batting more potent than it currently is. The Scorchers, on the other hand, are unlikely to make any major changes. Considering the above-mentioned factors, we expect Adelaide Strikers to emerge on top in this encounter. To get more Big Bash betting tips and to know every moment update keep visiting our website.
