Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Match 8 Preview & Prediction

Both, KKR and SRH have been top performers in the Indian Premier League. They’ve plenty of firepower in their squads and will not be easy to beat for anyone. The teams are evenly matched and there are no clear favourites among the two. However, Kolkata, having already played a game on the ground, has a slight advantage.

Things have not started well for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their overseas pace bowling all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the season due to an ankle injury. West Indies test skipper Jason Holder has been signed as his replacement.

Rashid Khan and Abhishek Sharma collided while taking a run against RCB which injured Rashid Khan.

Kane Williamson suffered a quadriceps injury during training and could not be drafted into the playing XI. However, the Kiwi skipper can be back for this match to give some mass to the Hyderabad middle order, which anticipatedly collapsed in their opening fixture.

Mohammad Nabi is expected to make the Hyderabad playing XI in place of Mitchell Marsh to provide them with another spin bowling option.

Both teams were led down by their batting in their previous games. For SRH, apart from Jonny Bairstow, none looked comfortable at the crease as they were bowled out for 153 in the 19th over. Same was the case with KKR as none of their batsmen crossed the 50 run mark in their first game. However, both teams have enough quality in their batting order which is expected to be among runs in the upcoming games.

In the bowling department KKR has a better bowling attack than SRH with Sunil Narine and Shivam Mavi performing exceptionally well. The form of Pat Cummins might be a worry and KKR might look to replace him with Lockie Ferguson. Prasidh Krishna too can sneak in the playing XI in place of SandeepWarrier. SRHis expected to stick with the same combination.

Date: 26th September 2020 (Saturday)

Time: 7:30 PM IST.

Venue: Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi

Toss Prediction:

Toss could go either way but the team winning the toss should bowl first to get the best bowling conditions. In two matches played on the ground, each has been won by team batting first and team chasing.

Weather And Pitch Report:

The weather at Abu Dhabi is expected to make the players sweat with temperatures touching 40 degree Celsius. The pitch at Abu Dhabi is generally good for batting but as we saw in the first two games of the tournament, it will have something in it for the pacers in the first few overs. The pitch definitely has lots of runs in it.

The conditions are expected to be in favour of the batting unit. Bowlers may not find it easy to keep the batsmen quiet. The short boundaries won’t help them either. Another run-fest seems to be on the cards.

KKR expected Team:

Shubhman Gill, Sunil Narine, Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan, Dinesh Karthik (C/wk), Rahul Tripathi, Andre Russell, Patt Cummins/ Lockier Ferguson, Shivam Mavi, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav

SRH expected Team:

David Warner (C), Jonny Bairstow(wk), Manish Pandey, Priyam Garg, Vijay Shankar, Mohammad Nabi,  Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Bhuveneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan.
