IPL 2021: KKR Replaces Gurkeerat Singh Mann For Injured Rinku Singh

Kolkata Knight Riders have made a last-minute change before the IPL. They have roped in Gurkeerat Singh Mann because of the player Rinku Singh’s knee injury.

The cash-rich league is all set to begin in just a few days, and while all the IPL Management are facing major challenges of playing in the pandemic era, Kolakat Knight Riders on Saturday 3, April 2020, decided to bring a new batsman in place of an injured one.

The announcement about this decision came as a media advisory on the official website of IPL website, describing that the players will be replaced and Rinku Singh will remain unavailable throughout the current season.

Gurkeerat Singh Mann last played for Royal Challengers Bangalore 2020, though afterwards he was released ahead of the auctions of 2021. Whereas KKR batsman Rinku Singh has played a total of 11 matches in IPL, and his debut was in 2017.

Known for his aggressive temperament on the field, Gurkeerat Singh Mann is an all-rounder who has risen significantly in cricket since 2015. 

Kolkata Knight Riders bought Gurkeerat at the base price of RS. 50 Lakhs and this will be his eighth IPL season. The right-handed batsman is both an impressive batsman and a great bowler who has shown surprising agility on the IPL fields.

They are not the only ones however who have made interesting changes. A few days before Sunrisers Hyderabad too signed up England’s opening batsman Jason Roy as a replacement for Mitchell March the all-rounder.

In the last month itself, RCB too replaced Josh Philippe for wicketkeeper Finn Allen who has just recently scored a brilliant 71 in 29 balls against Bangladesh.
