After two consecutive serieses now focus shifts to ODI series. India will host England in their final leg of the tour as World’s no. 2 India takes on World’s No. 1 England in three matches ODI series kicks off today. Where Team India will start the series with confidence after winning two consecutive serieses while England would put everything on stake to return to the winning ways.
All three matches of the series will be played on 23, 26, and 28 March behind the closed doors following the Covid-19 protocols. After this series Indian players will get a much needed break before approaching IPL and England players will join their respective IPL franchises.
It is confirmed that Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma will open for India in the first ODI and some automatic selections are also there. India’s wicket keeper and bowling combination will see some shuffle while Bhuvaneshwar Kumar will head the bowling attack.
For England the absence of Joe Root and Jofra Archer will cause some pain but still they have some good players who can force their opponent to bite their nails. Some of the out of form middle order players of England can be a cause of headache for them.
Overall, Virat Kohli’s men seem heavier over Eoin Morgan’s lineup. Hence hosts go as favourites in the first match. Here are the possible team combinations from both sides:
India Playing Eleven:
Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli (c), Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal
England Playing Eleven:
Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes, Eoin Morgan (C), Jos Buttler (WK), Sam Billings, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Mark Wood, Adil Rashid, Reece Topley
