The Big Bash League is an Australian professional franchise Twenty20 cricket league, which was begun in 2011 by Cricket Australia. The Big Bash League took place of the previous title, the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, and features eight city-based franchises rather than the six state teams which had participated earlier. The competition has been sponsored by fast food chicken outlet KFC since its inception. It is one of the two T20 cricket leagues, alongside the Indian Premier League, to feature amongst the top ten domestic sport leagues in average attendance.
The first season of big bash league was 2011-2012. Till now, nine seasons of big bash league have been concluded successfully. From 10 December, season ten is about to begin. The first season of the tournament was a thrilling one with Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers meeting in the final. Perth Scorchers scored 156 for the loss of 5 wickets on board. Joe Burns banged with 43 of 27 balls. They conquered the Perth Scorchers by 34 runs. Shaun Marsh was the highest scorer with a quick 63. The Hobart Hurricanes could only manage to reach the score of 152 runs in their respective 20 overs. Brad Hogg grabbed 3 wickets off just 17 runs and was rightfully tagged man of the match while Ben Dunk was awarded man of the tournament.

Michael Klinger played a match winning innings of 71 runs. For his 3 wickets in the first innings, Jhye Richerdson was named man of the match. For the second time straight, Chris Lynn was awarded man of the tournament.

The Hurricanes can only score 177 in their chase. Jake Weatherald was named man of the match without any question while D’Arcy Short was man of the tournament for his batting masterclass.

Five wickets in four overs ruined the Melbourne Stars’ momentum as the Renegades completed a stunning comeback to claim their maiden title.
Man of the match was named veteran allrounder Dan Christian, who hit an unbeaten 38 and followed up with the critical wickets of Seb Gotch and Dwayne Bravo. Melbourne Renegades’ quick Kane Richardson topped the BBL bowling charts with 24 wickets at 17.70, while D’Arcy Short retained both the batting title and Player of the Tournament honours with 637 runs at 67.62.
