Day 2
Day One Score 233-6 After 89 Overs
The only thing that was in favour of team India was the toss. It was known before the match that the team that wins the toss will definitely choose to bat first. India won the toss and skipper Virat Kohli decided to bat first.
Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal came to open for India. It was the only 2nd ball of the day and India lost its first wicket as Prithvi Shaw. Cheteswar Pujara came to manage the innings with Mayank Agarwal after first down. Everybody was hoping that both of them are now settled and will build the innings further but suddenly Mayank Agarwal succumbed to Pat Cummins after 32 runs partnership, after losing two wickets within 18.1 overs, India was on back foot.
Here comes the Indian Skipper to lead the team right then it was quite necessary and crucial innings was expected from him. As everybody was expecting, Virat Kohli and Cheteswar Pujara however managed to build the innings and accumulated 68 runs for 3rd wicket as Cheteswar Pujara.
A good partnership was going on between Ajinkya Rahane and the Skipper but because of some confusion and lack of understanding between twos, Virat Kohli got run out at the time when the crucial phase of the game was on. India lost the most valuable and reliable wicket of skipper at the score of 188.
After that no one could manage to face the striking Australian bowling attack and India kept losing wickets one after another. At the end of the day one India was 233-6 after 89 overs on the scoreboard.
Second day, on the very 3rd ball India loses 7th wicket in the name of Ravichandran Ashwin and India is still on 233-7 after 89.3 overs, without scoring a single run. Within 93.1 overs India could manage to score 244 runs after losing 10 wickets.
If we see the pitch report, day by day pitch will get slow and it will be difficult to bat over here. Keeping this in mind, with a 244 score India can fight with a disciplined bowling attack. Here is the only India has to do is, stop Australia from gaining lead in the first innings.
