Hobart Hurricanes had lost their way after suffering three consecutive losses. However, they managed a fine comeback victory in their last game after defeating a top side like Sydney Thunder which should give them confidence.

Unfortunately, the loss of all-rounder James Faulkner to injury will be a big blow for Hobart and leaves their bowling a little hollow. Scott Boland, who has been the team’s best bowler with 14 wickets, will have added responsibility now along with Riley Meredith (12 wickets) and Nathan Ellis (13 wickets).

Perth Scorchers are scripting an incredible story in BBL 10. In the last 7 games, they have won 6 matches and only Sydney Sixers were able to stop their winning run. They are coming off a thumping 59-run victory against Brisbane Heat which has pushed their net run rate to a healthy +0.974.

Colin Munro, who has been the leading run-getter of the season for the team with 353 runs, was in action again with a sublime 82 off 54 balls. Perth’s bowling has been really good and has been led amazingly by Jhye Richardson who now has 21 wickets in the season. Richardson and Jason Behrendorff (9 wickets) have formed a good opening pair for the team and took 4 wickets between them in the last match too.

Pitch Report:

The Melbourne Derby was played out at the Docklands Stadium before this match and the pitch was very slow. The ball kept sticking in the wicket and getting the big hits away was difficult. This is why batting could be a bit tough as the match progresses. The size of the boundaries is pretty small, though, and that will keep the batsmen interested. In general, though, we think this is going to be a match in which the bowlers will dominate for large parts.

Weather Conditions:

The weather in Melbourne on Friday is supposed to be cloudy and windy. We should have a full game.

Toss Prediction:

The team that wins the toss is likely to bat first. The pitch at the Docklands is a bit on the slower side and so the spinners will be pretty effective. Chasing any decent total is going to be pretty tough in our opinion.

Hobart Hurricanes Predicted XIs:

Ben McDermott (wk), D’Arcy Short, Dawid Malan, Peter Handscomb (c), Colin Ingram, Tim David, Mitchell Owen, Nathan Ellis, Scott Boland, Riley Meredith, Sandeep Lamichhane

Perth Scorchers Predicted XIs:

Jason Roy, Liam Livingstone, Colin Munro, Josh Inglis (wk), Cameron Bancroft, Ashton Turner (c), Aaron Hardie, Jhye Richardson, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, Fawad Ahmed
